Mining Driving and Utility Lights
The mining industry has changed tremendously in the last several years and the goals of today are different than they used to be. Targets for productivity and safety are increasingly standing out, as commodity prices drop and operating expenses rise. Thus, mines around the world are looking more and more at their operating costs. With efficient lighting technology, such as LEDs, mines are now maximising their resources.
A reoccurring problem with traditional lighting, such as Halogen or HID, is the constant, rapid movement found within a mining environment. Repairing a broken lamp or ballast is time-consuming, expensive, and dangerous. LED Lighting is solid-state technology, and as there are no fragile filaments or breakable glass components vulnerable to the constant shock and vibration, it is much more durable. Quality LEDs are also rated for at least 50,000 operating hours, which equates to almost six years of continuous lighting. The lifetime of traditional light sources, by contrast, is far less: between 2,000 to 20,000 hours in perfect conditions. Therefore, upgrading to LED lights significantly reduces maintenance expenses.
Lightforce offers a high-performance LED Lighting range in the mining machinery sector, in the form of driving and work utility lights. The quality and performance of these products are carefully optimised to the requirements of the industry.
The Lightforce Striker LED is compact yet powerful and offers all-around performance, making it an ideal choice for mining vehicles. It is equipped with 15 high-quality LEDs, and yields an impressive distance of 1 LUX @ 754 metres per pair. Designed for long hours of use, it has a reduced colour temperature of 5000K, which improves clarity and reduces fatigue, making shifts at night all that much safer.
The lens is made from hard-coated, scratch and high impact resistant polycarbonate, and comes with a clear Spot Filter or added protection. Additional Combo and Flood Filters can be purchased separately for different beam patterns. Learn more about our Modular Filter System here.
The Striker LED is IP68 and IP69K rated to protect against high-pressure moisture and contaminant ingress, and built with over, under, reverse voltage. Reduced radio interference technology is included and the light is PCB designed with reduced electromagnetic interference. It will operate in temperatures ranging from -40°C to 60°C and eliminates any worries when in extreme conditions. The compact lightweight design weighs in at only 1kg, including the mount, and is extremely practical in conditions where mounting space is lacking.
The Striker LED is Australian made and has a 3 year warranty. It also comes with a complete DIY Installation Kit.
The Lightforce Genesis LED is our best selling light and offers a unique 3 Stage Operation, allowing to switch from full intensity to daytime or night time positioning with the simple push of a button. It yields an impressive distance of 1 LUX @ 1,053 metres per pair, with a reduced 5000K colour temperature for improved clarity and reduced fatigue, making it ideal for long night time shifts.
The light is CISPR25 compliant, reducing radio frequency interference and IP69K rated to protect against moisture and contaminant ingress. Equipped with a hard coated, scratch and high impact resistant polycarbonate lens, the Genesis LED is dust-tight and resistant to close range, high pressure, high-temperature spray downs. Weighing in only at 2.4kg, the Genesis LED is fitted with unique ultra-strong glass field nylon mounting brackets, for perfect stability in any conditions. A unique clip-on modular polycarb filter system is available to customise the beam pattern. A clear Spot filter is included with the purchase of the light, and Combo and Flood filters may be purchased separately. Learn more about our Modular Filter System here.
The LED lifespan extends to 50,000 hours and the operating temperature ranges from -40°C to 60°C, making it the investment long-term. It is Australian made and has a 3 year warranty.
The Lightforce Venom LED is the Genesis LED's younger brother and sports many of the same features. It yields a very generous 1 Lux at 850 metres per pair, with a 5000K colour temperature for great clarity and reduced fatigue.
Like Genesis LEDs, Venom LEDs can be switched from full intensity, to day time operation, to night time mode. The unit is dust-tight and resistant to close range, high pressure, high-temperature spray downs as well as IP69K rated and CISPR25 compliant, reducing radio frequency interference. It is equipped with unique ultra-strong glass field nylon mounting brackets, for absolute stability, and weighing in at a mere 1.2kg, it can be mounted in tight-fitting spaces where other driving lights do not easily fit.
Like its older brother, its LEDs have a lifespan of 50,000 hours, and Venom LEDs work in extreme conditions ranging from -40°C to 60°C, and comes with a clip-on modular polycarbonate filter system customise the beam pattern. A clear Spot filter is included with the purchase of the light, with Combo and Flood filters available for purchase. Learn more about our Modular Filter System here.
The Venom LED is Australian-made and comes with a 3 year warranty.
